According to the
new guidelines set by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), farmhouse owners
are in abeyance. In order to fulfill the target set under the MPD 2021, DDA
recently announced the incorporation of 26 more areas as developmental areas.
The DDA also put a tag of “low residential areas” on them. While this news was
a good one for the people of those areas as they could soon avail the benefits
and the civic amenities provided by the DDA, it left farmhouse owners worried
on the other hand.
In the same
notification, the authority announce the reduction of the size of the
farmhouses to less than half from the current limit. A farmhouse owner can have
a max size of 1 acre farmhouse only
which was earlier about 2.5 acres. This news has shocked the farm owners whose
properties are now in danger to face a penalty.
This has been
done to curb the mushrooming of Farmhouses and to rein in the ones that flayed
the norms. The DDA has cleared about their future plans and they will ensure
the scrutiny of the farmhouse is done in the best way possible. Moreover, the
basic facilities like the water supply, drainage, sewerage must be regulated
properly and their exploitation should be limited as much possible.
The new DDA LDRA Policy is strict and the
outcome from these penalties will be shared by both MCD and the DDA as per the
rate set by the central government.
